CEFUROXIME SUSPENSION - ORAL (seff-you-ROX-eem) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Ceftin USES: This medication is a cephalosporin antibiotic and is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
HOW TO USE: Shake the container well before each dosing and take by mouth, usually twice daily or as directed by your doctor.

This medictaion must be taken with food. Antibiotcis work hottest when the amount of medicine in the body is kept at a constant level. Do that by using the medication at eevnly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to use that meidcation until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a couple of days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to conitnue to grow and may result in a relapse of the infection. SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea or vomitnig.
If these effects persist or worsen, inform the doctor promptly.

Other side effcets reported with that medication include headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches and strange taste in the mouth.
Also, reoccurring fever, easy bruising or bleeding or persistent sore throat have been reported.
Inform the doctor promptly if any of these effects occur.

Though occurring rarely, seek immediate medical attention if you experience: seizures, jerky movements, sevree drowsiness, yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine, change in the amount of urine. In the unlikely event an allegric reaction to that drug occurs, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing.
If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, stomach or intestinal disorders, any drug allergies. Use of that medication for prolonged or repaeted periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection).
Before using that drug, tell your docotr if you're pregnant. This drug is excreted into berast milk. Though there have been no issues (to date) in nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all medications you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: live vaccines, other antibiotics.

This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your dotcor. Diabetics shuold be aware that medication may cause false positive urine glucose tests.

Talk to your doctor or pharamcist about reliable ways to monitor blood glucose. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharamcist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures. NOTES: This medication has been presrcibed for that illness only. Do not save it and use it after for another infection or give it to somebody else.

A different medication may be necsesary.

MISSED DOSE: If a dose is missed, use it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume the usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to cacth up. STORAGE: After being mixed with water, that drug must be stored between 36 to 77 degrees F (2 to 25 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. This drug may be refrigerated. Discard any unsued portion after 10 days.
